Had to republish this..
Its next Tuesday, June 5th, and should be a nice peaceful protest. Its getting closer to the time when a decision will be made on Fracking in NYS. I believe we need to be vigilant and not let the Governor forget about this & know how many New Yorkers (overwhelmingly) oppose Fracking in our state. I am going to try to go to this event. Feel free to contact me, (Bob Dorn) at 8453452160 or 8458265925, should you wish to carpool to Albany for this event.
This is the top of the Scum dump that is ‘American Capitalism at its best’ today. Same can be said for Citigroup, WellsFargo, Bank of America, Chase and many more. today, MoveOn Sullivan rallie outside the Chase bank in Monticello NY to bring attention to the Bank scandals and continuing Foreclosure night mare. As one that went through one of those nightmares, I will take every chance to throw my body in front of the these ‘blood sucking Vampire Squid(s)) (MIke Taibbi). These banks are still doing the same BS (read the article) that brought down the economy in 08.
Chomsky summarizes our ‘true’ history, that you won’t hear too many other places… in this two part article.. I really do think its an important piece to read for all.
Thursday Feb. 9, 2012 will begin half an hour early at 2:00 PM with special guest Lawrence Lessig, author of the fabulous new book, Republic, Lost.
“It is beyond unacceptable that acclaimed documentary director Josh Fox was arrested for trying to film a public hearing on groundwater contamination caused by hydraulic fracturing in Pavilion, Wyoming
I am posting this as I will be one of the ‘official volunteers’ and ‘ambassadors’ for this event, after being asked by a friend…. Today I got the official parade application signed and notarized for the NYC area leader, a beautiful young Lesbian woman, Christianne Bharath, who I hope to meet soon…. I hope I can ask for MoveOn’s official support for this event.
First organizational meeting, Feb. 3, 20121, at the Mulberry Sr. Center, Middletown NY
I attended this meeting myself last night, in private support of the movement in general. Secondly, I was to meet with several people who are facilitating the Foreclosure stoppages (see http://www.projectnooneleaves.org/)…. I was surprised (but it WAS a Senior center) by the number of Seniors in attendance, many of whom spoke.. while it was festive and there was a lot of food offerred for free, (sorry, I forgot the name of the group supplying), it took awhile to get under way. Many Occupy Poughkeepsie and Kingston members were there, helping facilitate the events. Basic formation issues were present, perhaps hampered by a lot of talking around the eating area, but still an effective demonstration of what a messy Demoracy movement looks like. I look forward to learning more and attending some of their future meetings. This is the closest (Middletown NY) ‘Occupation’ to my area, so , obviously having been involved with OWS somewhat so far, I was very interested in what was going on.
The Record one paragraph description, in my view, missed a lot of what was going on (“http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20120203/NEWS/202030376”)
One thing was obvious is that the name ‘Occupy Orange’ would serve as an ‘umbrella’ for local occupations in Orange county (NY)… e.g. Middletown, Newburgh, and Port Jervis.
