Wednesday, January 4, NYC to tackle ‘Citizens United’.

04 Jan

New York City is about to take an important step forward in the fight to limit the corporate takeover of our democracy.

TOMORROW — Wednesday, January 4 — the New York City Council is scheduled to vote on a resolution asking Congress to pass an amendment overturning the Supreme Court’s disastrous decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, which opened the floodgates for unlimited corporate spending in elections. CONTACT YOUR COUNCILPERSON!

I agree, but it should be the Sullivan Legislature to do this

Dr Clark, MoveOn already includes this in their ‘Contract for the American Dream’.. but how else would they do it? They are a national organization.. the push for the Constitutional amendment, which they support, is the route to go.. there are currently 4 ‘amendment’ bills in Congress… we can hope that one will gain momentum. the Bernie Sanders bill “http://movetoamend.org/news/nation-move-amend-top-idea-2010”
